The Adriatic island of Losinj is well known for its mild mediterranean climate, famous naval tradition and rich flora and fauna.
Both its geographic location and distance from the mainland result it a unique sunny microclimate with ideal ratio of air temperature and humidity. Losinj has only been inhabited for several centuries, unlike the island of Cres whose urban settlement dates back to the times of the Roman Empire. In the Middle ages the area was regarded as a major naval crossroad.
Surroundings are plentiful in submarine archeological sites, some of which are exibited in the Museum of Losinj.
